A study reveals the fact that the couple, with the wife rated more attractive than her husband, had a more harmonious marriage and lasting. Why is that?
The researchers acknowledge that the beauty and physical appearance is a subjective thing. However, studies show, there are standards of beauty in a social environment, encompassing the round, soft face, symmetrical face shape, and a small waist.
In addition, researchers also say that the man positioned beauty and physical appearance of women as a key condition. Meanwhile, women over men with the ability to prioritize qualified to support and meet the needs of the family.
Previously, James McNulty, of the University of Tennessee, has released the results of research which reveals that a marriage between a husband and wife who have the same allure as early marriage tends lasting. However, these conditions change when stepping wedding five years and beyond.
Now, a recent study published by the Journal of Family Psychology revealed that the magnetic attraction between men and women is still a major indication of a marriage relationship, but not solely based on physical appearance.
The study says that a husband and wife behave more harmonious and have a power struggle sustain higher household when the wife looks relatively pretty and attractive than her husband.
"This discovery is very reasonable," said Dan Ariely, Professor of Behavioral Economics, MIT's Program in Media Arts and Sciences and Sloan School of Management. "Men are very sensitive to women who are physically attractive. Then, women tend to be more sensitive to the tall man and have a good income," he added.
Instead, the couple, with the husband tends to be more dazzling than the wife, marriage temperature is more "hot" and less harmonious. Because, according to the study, handsome husband are less able to provide for his wife and family.
"The man with the appearance of a mediocre high spirit in maintaining the household by working better to fulfill the responsibilities as head of the family. Therefore, they feel fortunate and will always try harder to give happiness to their wives," explained James McNulty ,
